How to Export a GPX File from Garmin Connect

The adventure is on your watch. Bring the route home. Export a recorded GPS activity using the Garmin Connect website in a desktop browser — not the Garmin Connect mobile app.

01

Open Garmin Connect on the web

Sign in at connect.garmin.com in your browser. Sync your watch first if the activity is not yet in your account.

02

Find your activity

Choose Activities → All Activities in the navigation, then open the activity you want to keep.

03

Choose the GPX export

Open the settings gear at the top right of the activity and select Export to GPX.

04

Keep the downloaded file

Find the .gpx file in your browser’s download folder. Keep the original and use a copy for your poster.

Good to know

Choose an outdoor activity with recorded GPS coordinates. An indoor workout without a GPS track cannot provide a route map. Export Original may give you a FIT file; choose Export to GPX for the Wildshift editor.
